Sequestrene® 138 Fe is a premium 6% iron (Fe) EDDHA chelate with a very high Ortho-Ortho isomer (~4.8%) delivering maximum stability and plant availability in highly alkaline and calcareous soils (pH up to 9). It is the reference solution for severe and persistent iron chlorosis, ensuring reliable greening of fruit trees, vines, citrus, olives, date palms, vegetables and ornamentals.
Mode of Action: The high Ortho-Ortho EDDHA structure protects iron from precipitation and fixation by calcium carbonate, keeping Fe soluble in the rhizosphere for extended periods—supporting photosynthetic enzyme systems, respiration, and sustained chlorophyll formation.
Key Benefits:
- Superior stability under very high soil pH—long residual effect.
- Rapid & durable correction of severe iron chlorosis vs conventional Fe sources.
- Flexible soil / fertigation application (band, ring trench, localized incorporation).
- Enhances chlorophyll density, vigor, and yield potential.
- Reduces need for repeated foliar sprays (root-based long-term supply).
- Fast dissolving, homogeneous granules/powder—easy handling.
Target Deficiency Symptoms: Strong interveinal yellowing of newest leaves, stunted shoots, pale canopy, reduced fruit size.
Application Method:
- Soil placement / incorporation: Mix into top 5–10 cm moist soil within active root radius then irrigate.
- Fertigation: Dissolve in clean water, inject evenly (30–60 min), flush lines afterwards.
- Foliar use not recommended (product is root-optimized; foliar staining & lower efficacy).
Timing: Early spring flush or immediately upon chlorosis detection. For extreme cases a follow-up reduced dose after 6–8 weeks.
Storage & Safety: Keep sealed, dry, cool. Use PPE (gloves, mask for dust). Avoid prolonged storage of prepared solution.
Expected Response: Visible greening in 7–14 days with sustained coloration in subsequent flushes.
